The Grand River is only one of three rivers in all of Ohio designated as Scenic and Wild. Noted for breathtaking vistas and scenery, the Grand River supports rich and abundant aquatic life. More than 90 species of fish have been recorded as well as 27 species of mussels, including the federally endangered Snuffbox mussel.
In addition to this rich aquatic life, numerous species of breeding birds reside within the river valley along with a vast diversity of plant species.
Grab a net to discover the animals in the river. Get wet or stay dry as you explore and learn about the river by participating in these other great activities:
• Interactive activity stations
• Self-guided interpretive hike
• Meet different conservation organizations dedicated to protecting the Grand River
• Relax to live music
This is a great summertime event for all ages. Registration required.
