The 33rd annual Amateur Contest and Show captures the beauty of nature within Lake County through the lenses of amateur photographers. Photographs are judged based on content, technical quality, composition and originality. A separate junior division features the work of photographers ages 14 and younger.
Want to enter? Photos can be either film or digital. All photos must be taken outdoors within Lake County. Entries may be dropped off at the nature center during the month of May. Visit website for categories and entry form.
Prizes are awarded to first, second and third place and Best of Show winners. Ribbons are awarded to first, second and third place and Honorable Mention winners in each category. All winners are determined by independent contest judges.
Visitors’ Choice Award: Visitors can vote for their favorite photo from this year’s contest. Stop by the Nature Center, see the show, and fill out a ballot. The photo with the most votes at the end of the show will receive an additional prize.
Name this Photo: Visitors to the photo show can write down their best title for a specific photo displayed in the Nature Center. The top ten titles will be posted on the website following the conclusion of the show.
